Hello guys, long time no see. This week, I show you the impressions I gathered on my weekend trip to Colmar – Alsace.
It started, with planning a reunion weekend to see my girls from Master’s again. Usually, we meet up at the home of one of us once (or if we manage twice) a year, but this time we decided for something more sophisticated. The plan was to meet up somewhere in the middle of our living places and this happened to be in Alsace. I never visited Colmar before – although I know it is famous for the wine and its Christmas Market in December – but I happened to be in Straßbourg before. Colmar has a lot of charme. I can understand why so many (international) people come and visit it. We were lucky deciding to go on a weekend where the weather was brilliant. The only disadvantage with this: every other person had the same idea! And so we were wandering the old town streets together with a lot of tourists, buying soaps, clothes, jewelry, wine, cookies, and in general a lot of food. From Flammkuchen over Schweinshaxe and Sushi, I tried everything. The second day we took the car to Riquewhir to see the wine fields, the landscape of Alsace and the historical old town. Fachwerkhäuschen everywhere!
